In General, their color is light brown but can be almost black and it has two dark stripes from behind the head to the base of the wings. To stop them seal holes in walls and around plumbing pipes. also hey come up through the floor from underneath the house, and under doors or windows. Use window screens and seal openings around doors and windows to prevent them from coming in
